MLB CLOSES CANADIAN OFFICE IN RESTRUCTURING PLAN

          MLB decided last week "to close" its MLBP Canada office
     in Toronto, according to Matthew Sekeres of the Toronto
     GLOBE & MAIL.  The office opened in '93, but MLB Exec Dir of
     PR Richard Levin said, "Ever since [MLB COO] Paul Beeston's
     come in, he's been restructuring the offices."  MLBP Canada
     "will move" to N.Y., with Dir of Sponsorship and Media Rick
     Amos "continuing to work" in Canada (GLOBE & MAIL, 5/16).
