SALES, PRICES OF KEYSHAWN'S NO. 19 JETS JERSEY IN DESCENT

While Bucs WR Keyshawn Johnson's old No. 19 Jets
jerseys "once were gold to sporting goods stores," they're
now "just taking up rack space," according to BLOOMBERG
NEWS' Curtis Eichelberger, who noted that some retailers
have "cut the price" of the jerseys in half since Johnson
was traded to the Bucs a month ago. Modell's is selling the
jerseys for about $40 and "will start cutting prices soon,"
and The Sports Authority "already has cut its stock" by 25%
to about $25. Scorehere.com Owner Kevin Kempf, who has cut
the price of Johnson's replica jerseys from about $45 to
about $25 on the Web site, said, "Keyshawn made a good name,
but he's not legendary. If someone like a Steve Young gets
traded to Denver, his 49ers jersey will still sell because
he is legendary as the 49ers [QB]." NFL.com also reduced
the price of Johnson's authentic jersey by $10 to about
$170. While N.Y.-area stores have cut prices of Johnson's
Jets jerseys, stores in Tampa "aren't having any problem
finding" buyers for his Bucs jerseys (BLOOMBERG, 5/10).
