Ed Goren, "who's name was on four of the 13 Emmys won
by Fox Sports on Wednesday night," was promoted to Fox
Sports President on Thursday, according to Michele Greppi of
the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Goren, a 20-time Emmy winner and
Exec Producer of all Fox Sports programming since '94, "will
continue to share" his duties with Fox Sports TV Group Chair
& CEO David Hill. In addition to overseeing current
investments and partnerships -- the NFL, MLB, NASCAR, the
Southwestern Bell Cotton Bowl Classic and the NTRA -- Goren
"is mandated to land other major events" (HOLLYWOOD
REPORTER, 4/28). DAILY VARIETY's Paula Bernstein notes that
Goren will report to Hill (DAILY VARIETY, 4/28).
THE ABC'S OF MANAGING: In N.Y., Lisa Brownlee writes
that Bob Callahan, who "had been running" ABC's TV and radio
station groups, was named President of the ABC Broadcast
Group. Brownlee: "Insiders credit him with helping to
launch both Radio Disney and ESPN Radio" (N.Y. POST, 4/28).
Callahan will oversee many of the Disney company's
divisions, including ABC Sports (DAILY VARIETY, 4/28).
