OURHOUSE.COM HAS A VERY, VERY, VERY NICE MLB $1M PROMO

IL-based home solutions Web site OurHouse.com has
partnered with the official radio broadcasters of eight MLB
teams, including the Yankees, Mets, White Sox, Red Sox,
Mariners, Giants and Rangers, to develop various promos
throughout the 2000 season. The "OurHouse.com Perfect Game,
Perfect House, Million Dollar Giveaway" promo gives
consumers the opportunity to win $1M toward the purchase of
their dream house should a pitcher from a participating team
throw a perfect game this season. To support, OurHouse.com
will air 60-second ads during each participating radio
     broadcast this season (OurHouse.com).
ONE, TWO, THREE STRIKES GUMOUT: BRANDWEEK's Terry
Lefton reports that MLB and ESPN "have set a deal whereby"
Pennzoil's Gumout engine cleaner becomes an MLB Corporate
Sponsor. The one-year deal includes a "healthy seven-figure
ad buy" that has "netted" Gumout presenting sponsorship
status on ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" broadcasts. Lefton
writes that it's "unclear whether" Gumout will be named
"official gasoline cleaning agent" of MLB (BRANDWEEK, 4/24).
ALL-STAR EFFORTS: MLB launched its All-Star Balloting
effort with a special on-field ceremony at Turner Field.
MLB soft drink sponsor Pepsi will distribute 30 million
ballots through Wal-Mart stores nationwide (MLB). Seattle-
based Seasonticket.com has signed on as an official sponsor
of MLB All-Star in-stadium and online balloting and as the
exclusive online host of balloting (Seasonticket.com).
