          Chargers GM BOBBY BEATHARD retired yesterday after 37
     years in the NFL and the team named ED MCGUIRE as
     VP/Football Operations.  McGuire was Senior Manager of Labor
     Operations for the NFL's Management Council (L.A. TIMES,
     4/26)....Nike named GARY DE BAY as VP/New Business Ventures
     and ROBERT TABB as VP/Information Technology.  De Bay was
     President & CMO of CO-based Explor, a retail and e-commerce
     venture creation company.  Tabb was VP & CIO for CNF Inc, a
     worldwide transportation company (Nike)....In Baltimore,
     Rona Kobell reports that Turner Sports & Entertainment
     Development President JANET MARIE SMITH "will join"
     Baltimore developer Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse Inc. "in
     an as-yet untitled position" (Baltimore SUN, 4/26)....MA-
     based Woolf Associates named JIM REILLY to the agency's golf
     division, where he will be responsible for new business
     development and sponsorship sales.  Reilly was Octagon
     Marketing Dir of Golf Sales and Development (Woolf).
     ...Former CBS Sports President DAVID KENIN was named
     SportsPrize Entertainment Chair & CEO (SportsPrize).
