A SCHOTT IN THE DARK? A'S CO-OWNER FACES SUIT BY FORMER AID

A's co-Owner Steve Schott "has been sued by his former
right-hand man, Edward Alvarez, who helped negotiate the
purchase of the team and other key deals but now claims his
former boss reneged on millions of dollars promised to him,"
according to Laura Counts of the OAKLAND TRIBUNE. Alvarez,
who worked for Schott's SCS Development Co. and then became
Exec VP of the A's, "asserts he is owed nearly $20 million
plus damages." Alvarez filed his lawsuit in Alameda County
Superior Court last week, naming Schott, the A's and team
subsidiaries as defendants (OAKLAND TRIBUNE, 4/22).
