WITH PRO PLAYER DEAL REACHED, NAMING RIGHTS BACK ON MARKET

An agreement reached out of court last week between
Fruit of the Loom, which filed for bankruptcy in December,
and Pro Player Stadium, puts the facility's naming rights
"back in the hands of" stadium Owner Wayne Huizenga,
according to Sarah Talalay of the Ft. Lauderdale SUN-
SENTINEL. Pro Player Stadium President M. Bruce Schulze:
"The naming rights are back in our control. We're now in
the market. We're excited, we're looking forward to the
challenge." The facility was four years into its ten-year,
$20M naming rights deal with Fruit of the Loom subsidiary
Pro Player, and Talalay reports this marks the first time a
naming rights deal for a sports venue "has been threatened
by a bankruptcy, a situation sports business experts are
watching closely." Some "expect" future naming rights deals
to include clauses addressing bankruptcy. Stadium officials
hope to secure a sponsor by the start of the NFL season in
     September (Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL, 4/20).
