FACILITY NOTES

BASEBALL: In Detroit, Josar & Puls write that Comerica Park officials met yesterday "to find ways to eliminate the Opening Day glitches" in concession services that have "annoyed" fans. Several suite-holders said at last night's game that they were still "disappointed" at the food service. Olympia Entertainment spokesperson Kathleen Kennedy blamed the delays on vendors who "still are learning their way through" the ballpark (DET. NEWS, 4/13)....Marlins Owner John Henry met with MLB Commissioner Bud Selig about the team's efforts for a new ballpark. Henry, on Selig: "[He] said, `You're in an impossible situation.' I don't think he shared my distress when he came in, but he found it to be a distressing situation." Henry said that he has received phone calls from people in other cities interested in buying and moving the team (PALM BEACH POST, 4/13)....EAB commerical bank and Suffolk County, NY, agreed to a ten- year, $2.3M naming rights deal for the new $20M ballpark in Central Islip. The deal was negotiated by Parr Ventures. The 6,000-seat facility will be called EAB Park and is home for the Atlantic League Ducks (THE DAILY). NOTES: WI Gov. Tommy Thompson said yesterday that he "did not expect" the sexual assault allegations against Packers TE Mark Chmura to affect the pending State Assembly vote on public funding for the renovation of Lambeau Field. Thompson: "I don't think that one player is going to have that much of an impact on the Packers winning or losing [the referendum]" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/13)....In IL, Clair & Holmes reported that IMG will market naming rights to the proposed 12,000-seat Entertainment Center in Prospect Heights. Arena developers "also expect" to have an NPSL and an NLL team playing at the facility (DAILY HERALD, 4/12).
