SOCCER INFERNO! BURN, BABY, BURN A HOT ITEM UP FOR SALE

MLS Commissioner Don Garber said that the Burn, one of
two franchises remaining under league ownership and control,
"probably will not identify an owner without resolving the
club's stadium concerns," according to Steve Davis of the
DALLAS MORNING NEWS. MLS officials and Burn execs have
"always said" that the Cotton Bowl is "not a long-term
solution" to the team's stadium needs. Garber, on the
Burn's stadium situation: "The reality is that the stadium
issue will be tied in with new ownership discussion. That
does make [the process] more cumbersome. ... We could easily
sell that team for significantly less than we would like to,
and do that tomorrow." He noted that "the most substantive
ownership talks" about the Burn were with "an undisclosed
investment banking firm" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 3/29).
