          Devil Rays DH JOSE CANSECO has formed the CANSECO
     FINANCIAL GROUP, a mortgage and financial investments firm. 
     Canseco, on his venture: "I love this.  It's like gambling.
     ... When I retire from baseball, my [twin] brother [OZZIE]
     obviously has a sports-agent business, so I'm going to merge
     with him" (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 3/22)....Indicted sports
     agent TANK BLACK has retained Tampa attorney PETER GEORGE
     for his federal criminal trial set for May 1 (Daytona Beach
     NEWS-JOURNAL, 3/22)....TX Gov. GEORGE W. BUSH, on rumors he
     was being considered for the job of MLB commissioner in '94:
     "I had great friends in baseball, and I still do, but I
     don't think it was very serious, the talk about
     commissioner."  In Philadelphia, Claire Smith reports that
     "some people familiar with the selection process recall"
     that Bush "could have been sitting" where MLB Commissioner
     BUD SELIG is now "if club owners like Selig had bothered to
     return his phone inquiries" about the post in the months
     after the resignation of former Commissioner FAY VINCENT
     (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 3/22)....In Denver, Mike Klis
     profiles Denver attorney PAUL JACOBS, who has worked on
     numerous sports business transactions and has opened his own
     law firm specializing in real-estate contracts.  Jacobs has
     earned "a national reputation as a leading legal expert" in
     stadium lease arrangements (DENVER POST, 3/22).
