     as a Senior Account Exec for MONEY magazine in '81 (SI).
     ...The MetroStars named former Octagon Group Dir JOHN GUPPY
     as Senior VP/Sales & Marketing (MetroStars)....In addition
     to naming former USA Today Baseball Weekly Publisher KEITH
     CUTLER as Exec VP/Sales & Marketing, Turner Broadcasting
     also promoted VP/Sports Sponsorships & Marketing CHRISTOPHER
     EAMES to Senior VP/Sports Sponsorships & Marketing
     (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/20 issue)....Former MLB Special
     Assistant/Baseball Operations RALPH NELSON was named
     VP/Umpiring (MLB)....ETHAN GREEN has been named Global
     Sponsorship & Sports Marketing Manager for Compaq Computer
     Corp.  Green, who will be based at the company's HQ in
     Houston, will be responsible for int'l sponsorship strategy. 
     Green recently earned his MBA at NYU and was previously
     Assistant Editor of THE DAILY (THE DAILY)....The Mavericks
     named GEORGE PROKOS as Dir of New Revenue, replacing MARK
     ANDREW ZWARTYNSKI, who left to join vectrix.com. 
     Prospective Mavs Owner MARK CUBAN said of Prokos: "He's a
     great friend of mine who is doing a great job taking care of
     new and old customers" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM,
     3/22)....The N.Y. Times Company Magazine Group named former
     Golf World Publisher PETER GROSS as VP/Sales & Marketing. In
     addition, DAN ROBERTSON was named Ad Dir of Golf World
     Group, a combination of Golf World and Golf Shop Operations. 
     Robertson was Golf Shop Ops Ad Dir (N.Y. Times Magazine).
