JUST ANOTHER MANIC MONDAY WITH NO NEW OWNER FOR ROYALS

          The Royals' Board of Directors met Monday to discuss
     the bids of potential owners David Glass, Facundo Bacardi
     and Miles Prentice, but no "news came from the meeting,"
     according to Jeffrey Flanagan of the K.C. STAR.  Neither
     Board spokesperson Rob Merritt nor club President Mike
     Herman would confirm the meeting took place.  Flanagan
     writes that it "is possible" that no action was taken
     because the Board "is waiting to get a preliminary reaction"
     from MLB on the recommendation.  Flanagan: "Sources have
     indicated that the board does not want a repeat of the
     previous auction, when it endorsed a candidate [Prentice]
     baseball eventually rejected" (K.C. STAR, 3/14).
