TED'S EXCELLENT UNIFORM ADVENTURE: OWNER EYES NEW CAPS UNIS

Capitals Owner Ted Leonsis "has been reviewing
sketches" for new uniform designs for the team and "intends
to have them in place this fall," according to Eric Fisher
of the WASHINGTON TIMES. Leonsis confirmed the news during
an online chat with fans and wrote, "We are changing
everything next year -- new logo, new colors. We're last in
the league in sales of merchandise. We need to change --
change is good." The design change would be the team's
second in five years. Fisher wrote that there is "no word
yet on what colors or designs Leonsis is considering" and
any uniform change "would need to go through a lengthy
approval process with the NHL" (WASHINGTON TIMES, 3/9).
