THE CALL OF THE WILD: NEW NHL SQUAD SIGNS WCCO RADIO DEAL

The NHL expansion Wild and WCCO-AM signed an exclusive
three-year radio agreement to broadcast all of the expansion
NHL team's games, including pre-season, regular season and
Stanley Cup playoff games, starting with the 2000-01
inaugural season (Wild). In Minneapolis, Judd Zulgad writes
that the deal "will primarily be a revenue share." Wild
President Todd Leiweke said that the Wild "will hire the
broadcasters and pay for the production costs" of the
broadcasts, while WCCO will produce the broadcasts. Both
the team and WCCO will sell air time (STAR TRIBUNE, 2/29).
