FOX SPORTS LOOKS FOR SOME 'TUDE AND BITE TO ITS SPORTS SHOW

Starting as soon as late March or early April, FSN's
"Fox Sports News" is "expected to become more opinion-
oriented, more controversial and, via the Internet, more
interactive with its viewers," according to Langdon
Brockinton of the SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. FSN also plans to
"beef up" the show's production values, a move "designed in
part" to make the show "more entertaining." The changes
will be led by new Exec Producer Scott Ackerson, who said,
"We want to create an identity. I have a very simple motto:
Don't bore me." Brockinton adds that FSN is "proceeding
with plans to launch its regional sports news edition June
28," and could sign "a presenting sponsor or two" for the
regional 11:00pm shows (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 2/21 issue).
