MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

In DC, Eric Fisher reported that Ticketmaster and
Tickets.com are developing a system that would send out an
e-mail "every day with a list of discounted tickets" to
nearly every pro sports event, both locally and nationally,
similar to e-savers. DC-area Ticketmaster President Paul
Deustachio, on the system: "This shifts some risk from the
promoter or the owner to the consumer. ... Does the consumer
now pay full price and have the security of having the seat
in a location they picked? Or do they wait and maybe get
the lower price but risk a worse seat or not even going at
all?" (WASHINGTON TIMES, 2/20)....BRANDWEEK's Terry Lefton
reported that Reebok has signed Titans DE Jevon Kearse to an
endorsement deal (BRANDWEEK, 2/21)....After Jim Shea's
victory Sunday in skeleton competition at the Winter
Goodwill Games, he "found out" that Internet companies
Ultimate Bid and MilestonesNetwork.com "signed on" as team
sponsors. For more, see (#26) (USA TODAY, 2/22).
