I LOVE YA, MAN: POUND, KNIGHT MAKE UP AFTER WAR OF WORDS

SOCOG President Michael Knight gave IOC VP Dick Pound a
"peck on the cheek and the pair exchanged light-hearted
comments" yesterday, one day after Pound accused Knight of
"undermining" the Sydney Games (see THE DAILY, 2/17),
according to Jacquelin Magnay of the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD.
Knight: "Dick obviously needed some love and attention, and
as a good host I thought it important to give him some."
Knight added that sponsors "were incredibly important" to
the Games and that the Olympic Co-ordination Authority "was
looking at ways to enhance the value of their sponsorships
by giving" companies exposure at Olympic Live sites around
the city (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 2/18).
