LEAGUE NOTES

In DC, Steven Goff cites sources as saying that RFK
Stadium has been chosen to host MLS Cup 2000 over Tampa's
Raymond James Stadium. Goff writes that MLS execs
"lengthened the process for several months in hopes of
giving" the game to Tampa, but organizers were "unable to
move" a Univ. of South FL football game from Raymond James
(WASHINGTON POST, 2/16)....The DAILY RACING FORM's Glenye
Cain writes that KY-based Overbrook Farm "has notified" the
NTRA that it "will contribute a reduced amount" of $100,000
to the marketing body in 2000. The NTRA's Eric Wing said
that the donation is a "significant drop" from the $300,000-
plus Overbrook contributed in '99 (DAILY RACING FORM, 2/16).
...IBL CEO Art Cipriani announced plans to expand the eight-
team league next year: "Year 2 is a given. We're going to
add two to four teams, then take it from there." In Las
Vegas, Steve Guiremand noted that the IBL is "already
averaging" 300 fans per game more than the CBA (LAS VEGAS
SUN, 2/15)....The CBA reached an agreement with the United
States Basketball Academy (USBA) for the development of
training and entertainment videos and for use of the USBA's
training facility in Blue River, OR. The USBA will also
coordinate competition for CBA teams overseas (USBA)
