ESPN GOES WITH PROVEN VETERAN WIEDEN & KENNEDY FOR ALL MEDIA

ESPN has assigned all media responsibilities to Wieden
& Kennedy, N.Y., which has handled ESPN creative, including
the "This is SportsCenter" campaign, since '97. ESPN's
media placement was previously handled by Bozell, NY. W&K,
Portland, handled creative prior to the N.Y. office. ESPN
Senior VP Lee Ann Daly said consolidating creative and media
duties will result in "efficiencies that we did not have
before" (ESPN). AD AGE reported that the media account is
about $28M (AD AGE, 1/26). BRANDWEEK puts ESPN's
     consolidated W&K, N.Y. account at $30M (BRANDWEEK, 1/26).
MUSICAL NOTE: CA-based EMusic.com, an online seller of
downloadable music, has become the Official Music Sponsor of
ESPN's 2000 Winter X Games and will host the Winter X Games
Microsite in conjunction with EXPN and RollingStone.com. As
part of the partnership, EMusic.com is releasing "EMusic:
The Extreme Collection," a 22-song compilation available
exclusively on the Web site in MP3 format (EMusic.com).
