SUPER BOWL NOTES: WILL VICTORY PROPEL WARNER PAST MCGWIRE?

While Cardinals 1B Mark McGwire is "so popular" in St.
Louis "they named a stretch of Interstate Highway 70" after
him, Rams QB Kurt Warner, a "stock boy-turned-superstar,"
may "have dibs on naming rights to the Gateway Arch" should
the Rams defeat the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV, according to
Paul Sullivan of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. Cardinals Hall of
Fame Supervisor Jill Hettenhausen: "Last year at this time
Cardinals tickets went on sale, and that was the big story
in town. This year, no one cares about the Cardinals."
Sullivan adds that Warner's "surreal saga ... threatens to
make the annual postgame ad cliche, 'I'm going to Disney
World,' seem anticlimactic" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/25).
NOTES: Super Sunday will "serve as the grand opening"
of the 33,000-square-foot ESPNZone in the Buckhead section
of Atlanta. Tickets went on sale Sunday for $20 apiece and
include a T-shirt, a $10 game card and game notes (ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 1/23)....DirecTV has been named presenting
sponsor of the NFL QB Club Challenge and the NFL Legends
