Univ. of Miami game at Miami Arena were relocated to
AmericanAirlines Arena after a construction crew "punctured"
a water pipe while laying telecommunications lines outside
the arena (MIAMI HERALD, 1/23)....Marlins officials told
Miami Commissioner Arthur Teele Jr. and a team of his
advisors Friday that they "remain steadfast in their
determination" to build a new ballpark in Miami's
Bicentennial Park, despite the two sides agreeing to "share
information about their contrasting plans." In Miami, Tyler
Bridges wrote that Friday's meeting "demonstrated that Teele
is attempting to strengthen his role in the process of
deciding where the ballpark is built" (MIAMI HERALD,
1/22)....Giants LF Barry Bonds, on the proximity of the
stands to the field at Pac Bell Park: "A lot of people are
going to get hurt. But that's what [the team] wanted" (S.F.
CHRONICLE, 1/22)....In Cleveland, Christopher Quinn wrote
that six weeks after Cleveland Mayor Michael White said that
he "might need an extra" $31.4M for cost overruns at
Cleveland Browns Stadium, a City Council consultant said
that White "actually needs up to" $41.8M "to pay the bills"
