PBA MEMBERS GIVE "GO-AHEAD" TO BOD TO SELL LEAGUE

          PBA members "have given the go-ahead" to the BOD "to
     sell" the PBA Tour to a group led by former Microsoft exec
     Chris Peters, according to Jason Butler of the AKRON BEACON
     JOURNAL.  PBA Commissioner Mark Gerberich, who "emphasized
     that the deal is not yet done": "We still have a lot of work
     to do in getting language that they like, first, before we
     get to a final contract."  Butler adds that attorneys for
     the investor group are "working with" OH-based law firm
     Stark & Knoll.  Gerberich said that he "expects an agreement
     within" six weeks (BEACON JOURNAL, 1/20).  In Las Vegas,
     Jeff Wolf reported that the PBA is "wallowing in a sea of
     red ink to the depth of about" $3M (REVIEW-JOURNAL, 1/19).
