LEAGUE NOTES

          CBA Owner Isiah Thomas "has been negotiating a
     partnership between" his league and the Indoor Professional
     Football League (IPFL) "for the teams to share facilities,
     sponsors, season-ticket holders, radio/television packages,
     and, in some cases, owners."  Thomas, on the IPFL: "It fits
     with our model" (IDAHO STATESMAN, 1/19)....GOLFWEEK reports
     that "word is" Int'l Golf Association Exec Dir Burch Riber
     "has a proposal in front of" LPGA Tour Commissioner Ty Votaw
     to organize a Women's World Cup of Golf, which "would begin
     possibly" in 2001 (GOLFWEEK, 1/15).
