Host Communications and Universal Sports America (USA),
in conjunction with their recent purchase by Bull Run Corp.,
have announced a company name change as well as significant
restructuring within their KY and TX offices and throughout
their various sports marketing divisions. Effective
immediately, the USA name will exist only as a legal entity,
while the previous name Streetball Partners Int'l (SPI)
becomes the new division name. SPI will continue to lead
the events business, such as NBA Hoop-It-Up, which it
started in '89. In conjunction with these changes, SPI
announced that former Dir of Sponsorship Sales TAD BROWN has
been named SPI President. Brown will handle such events as
MLB Yard Ball, NHL Breakout and the Toyota Golf Skills
Challenge. Other changes include the collegiate and high
schools divisions being moved from USA to Host Sports, under
the leadership of President MARC KIDD. Other promotions
include: KEVIN BRYANT to Host Sports Exec VP/Sales in
Atlanta; KEVIN DENT to SPI Senior VP/Sales in NJ; EVAN
PARDUE to Dir of the High School Division in Atlanta; LISA
STEVENS to VP/Technological Services; and AMY BROWN to
VP/Human Resources. Additionally, Host Sports Senior VP
DAVE CAWOOD will oversee HR, PR, information technology and
printing functions for the entire company (Host).
