IMG/SFX BATTLE ONGOING IN COLLEGE RANKS: BOTH ANNOUNCE DEALS

          SFX Sports Group has formally announced the signing of
     FL State Univ. WR Peter Warrick to a representation
     agreement for on- and off-field endeavors, including
     contract negotiations, marketing and charitable efforts (see
     THE DAILY, 1/12).  SFX Sports Group Football Division's Mike
     George will direct the account (SFX).
          COUNTER PLAY: IMG has signed Marshall QB Chad
     Pennington to a representation deal for contract and
     marketing negotiations.  IMG Football's Tom Condon and Peter
     Johnson will direct the account.  The signing marks the
     third consecutive year that IMG has landed a top-rated NFL
     QB prospect, as Colts QB Peyton Manning and Browns QB Tim
     Couch were signed in '98 and '99, respectively.  IMG has
     also signed Univ. of VA RB Thomas Jones (THE DAILY).
