NAMES & FACES: K-SWISS' NET RESULT; IS IRON MIKE MARKETABLE?

U.S. tennis player Cecil Mamiit, "best known for
winning" the NCAA championship as a USC freshman in '96,
will endorse K-Swiss tennis shoes, according to Dan Kaplan
of the SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Mamiit, represented by
Octagon, will "become part of" an ad campaign K-Swiss will
launch in March featuring two other unnamed "emerging
athletes" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 1/10 issue). Mamiit is
currently ranked No. 93 on the ATP Tour.
DAILY DOSE OF IRON: A Keebler spokesperson said that an
FSI featuring former Saints coach Mike Ditka that appeared
in newspapers "around the country" last weekend "is a one-
shot deal" for Ditka, part of a deal signed last summer. In
Chicago, George Lazarus writes that whether Keebler "will
build" on its relationship with Ditka "remains to be
determined." Ditka is "currently doing ads" for Alberto-
Culver's Consort hair spray (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/11).
