SHORT AND SWEET? ZUCKERMAN READY TO SELL SHARE OF REDSKINS

Redskins Minority Owner Mort Zuckerman has "begun
discussions" to sell his interest in the team "within a
year" to Majority Owner Daniel Snyder, Snyder's family and
Minority Owner Fred Drasner, according to Mark Maske of the
WASHINGTON POST. Sources familiar with the discussions said
that Snyder and Drasner "will purchase" the 15% ownership
stake in the team and "will not seek additional investors."
Although Drasner and Zuckerman are partners in several
businesses, including U.S. News & World Report and the N.Y.
Daily News, "their relationship has been strained recently."
Snyder and his family currently own around 70% of the team,
with the other 30% currently split between Drasner and
Zuckerman. Since the new ownership took control of the
Redskins in July, the team's revenue "has increased by" $15-
     20M to around $60M (WASHINGTON POST, 12/20).
