Fox TV is developing "The Continuing Misadventures of
the Official Block Family," a half-hour pilot "based on the
real-life story" of T'Wolves F KEVIN GARNETT, according to
Josef Adalian of DAILY VARIETY. The script, from HUNGRY MAN
PRODUCTIONS, the "creative minds" behind ESPN's "This Is
SportsCenter" campaign, tells the story of "four friends of a
fictional ballplayer, with aspects of 'The Fresh Prince of
Bel-Air,' 'The Monkees' and the Little Penny ad campaign."
Garnett may make guest appearances if the "project goes to a
series" (DAILY VARIETY, 12/17)....Meanwhile, DAILY VARIETY's
Michael Fleming reported that GEORGE FOREMAN is "shopping a
life story project" to be produced by HBO Sports Exec
Producer ROSS GREENBURG. The film would be based on
Foreman's Random House biography, "By George," and Foreman
"might even play himself in the latter part of his life"
(DAILY VARIETY, 12/16)....JIM MORRIS, who made his MLB debut
this summer at the age of 35 pitching for the Devil Rays, has
signed a book deal with Little, Brown. Morris shopped his
story to 14 publishers. A publishing date has not been set
for the book, which will be co-written by JOEL ENGLER, who
co-authored Foreman's "By George." Disney has already
acquired the film rights to Morris' story (THE DAILY).
