THE FEMALE ATHLETE RAISES $4.8M IN PRIVATE OFFERING

          The Female Athlete (TFA), which was co-founded by Mary
     Tenety and Lori Tesla-Schmid in '96, has raised more than
     $4.8M through a private offering.  TFA offers athletic
     apparel to girls/women, ages 8-23, via femaleathlete.com and
     a catalogue. After the offering, TFA named Edward Downe Jr.
     as Chair of the BOD, which includes Tenety, ABC/ESPN's Dick
     Schaap and Stars & Strategies sports marketer Sue Rodin. 
     U.S. women's soccer team member Julie Foudy is on the
     Advisory Board and serves as company spokesperson (TFA).
