ESPN AND NIKE GAIN KUDOS FOR PRODUCING TOP ADS OF THE '90S

          Wieden & Kennedy's ad campaign for ESPN's
     "SportsCenter" was "judged to be the best work of the '90s
     in TV" by the One Club for Art and Copy, according to Stuart
     Elliott of the N.Y. TIMES.  One Club President and Fallon
     McElligott Art Dir Bob Barrie said the "SportsCenter"
     campaign "became a hit by not taking itself or the product
     too seriously.  That's something we can learn from."  One
     Club consists of 1,000 members that "include much of the
     best-known creative talent on Madison Avenue."  Elliott adds
     that the "client whose work was honored the most" was Nike. 
     Nike's "If You Let Me Play" campaign from W&K was named No.
     8 for TV, and its skateboarding campaign from Goodby,
     Silverstein & Partners was named No. 11.  Also, Nike's
     campaign for women from W&K was listed as No. 2 for print. 
     Fox Sports' NHL campaign from Cliff Freeman earned the No. 6
     spot among TV creatives (N.Y. TIMES, 12/15).
