AFL REACHES MARKETING AGREEMENT WITH SFX SPORTS GROUP

          The AFL has signed a two-year national marketing
     partnership with SFX Sports Group in "hopes" that SFX can
     bring in about $6M in sponsorship revenue, according to John
     Lombardo of the SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL.  SFX will also "help
     market individual AFL teams and may take over licensing and
     merchandising sales."  In return, SFX will receive "about"
     15% of the revenue it brings in.  AFL execs said the
     league's total sponsor revenue "is less than seven figures." 
     Sources close to the deal say that the AFL "expects" SFX to
     bring in "at least" $2M in new sponsorship next year and $4M
     in 2001 (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 12/13). See (#28) for more.
