GOODWILL GAMES DRESSED TO THE NINES: SPONSORS GET ON BOARD

          The Winter Goodwill Games announced a roster of nine
     sponsors for the event to be held in February in Lake
     Placid, NY.  Chevy Truck, Circuit City, Gillette, INVESCO
     Mutual Funds and AIM Distributors, Isuzu, Johnson & Johnson,
     Lincoln Financial, PowerBar and Quizno's are all exclusive
     sponsors of the inaugural competition.  The sponsors will be
     incorporated into about 4,000 TV spots on 13 Turner networks
     (six domestic and seven int'l), a national print campaign
     including promos in People and SI and on-site signage in
     Lake Placid.  Goodwill Games promos will also air on the TV
     Guide Channel, Delta In-Flights and other cable and radio
     outlets in 11 major U.S. markets (Goodwill Games).  
          $6M IN SPENDING: The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Langdon
     Brockinton reports that the nine sponsors are "collectively"
     spending more than $6M for the packages and that the
     Goodwill Games' promotional campaign is "valued at more
     than" $10M (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/29 issue).
