MJ AND HIS PUPILS PARTY IT UP AT NIKETOWN FOR JORDAN BRAND

Michael Jordan celebrated the launch of the new Jordan
Brand "Air Jordan" basketball shoe and its accompanying TV
ad campaign at NikeTown in L.A. on Monday night, according
to Bob Goen of "Entertainment Tonight" (see THE DAILY,
     11/23). Jordan: "Versatility's everything. It's always
been a trait of mine, and I think this [brand] is a very
good example of that." Yankees SS and Jordan Brand endorser
Derek Jeter: "Part of the reason [Jordan] chose the athletes
that he's working with is how they handle themselves
[outside of sports]." The ad spot is called "Overjoyed" and
singer Mary J. Blige "provides the vocals" for the
soundtrack. Blige "collaborated" with Stevie Wonder, who
"originally recorded the song." Wonder "played comedian" at
the party when he said, "I've watched [Jordan] play for many
years." ET showed a clip of the ad, which features Jordan
Brand endorsers Jeter, Roy Jones, Jr., Randy Moss, Eddie
Jones and Ray Allen. "ET"'s Mary Hart noted that the ad
debuts over Thanksgiving weekend ("ET," 11/23). See (#13).
