SBC COMMUNICATIONS TO AID TEXAS TECH STADIUM RENOVATION

          SBC Communications will donate $20M to Texas Tech Univ.
     "for the renovation of 52-year old Jones Stadium," according
     to Darryl Richards of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS.  The cash
     donation is "the largest" in university history and will be
     used to fund "most of the renovation project."  Whether SBC
     Communications will be included in the stadium name has not
     been determined.  University execs are "sensitive" to
     keeping "Jones" in the stadium's name in honor of former
     univ. President Clifford Jones (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 11/17).
