The Pirates will determine seating priority at PNC Park
by the type of season-ticket plans purchased by customers
for the 2000 season at Three Rivers Stadium, according to
Ray Fittipaldo of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. The team's
seating guidelines will give top priority to full season-
ticket holders, followed by partial-plan holders with 40-
game plans and then partial-plan holders with 20-game plans.
But "longtime" partial-plan customers "will not be given
preference over full season-ticket holders who purchase for
the first time in 2000," as seniority "does not factor into
the seating priority." Pirates VP/Marketing Vic Gregovits,
who said that the team "visited or surveyed" all of the
teams that recently moved to new ballparks: "This was the
most common and most fair way of doing it." Season-ticket
holders "will be seated in PNC Park with sight lines similar
to what they now have at Three Rivers Stadium," but they
"will not be able to see" a seating configuration of the new
ballpark until next fall. The facility is scheduled to open
for the 2001 season (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 11/11).
