BREWERS GO AHEAD WITH IMAGE CHANGE DESPITE BALLPARK DELAY

For the first time since '94, the Brewers "unveiled" a
new logo and uniforms, "featuring cursive script, a new
color and a barley sprig," according to Don Walker of the
MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, who writes that team officials
"figured there was no reason to wait" until Miller Park
opens in 2001 for a "makeover." Brewers officials "hope the
makeover will make cash registers ring," as the team ranks
near the bottom of MLB in merchandise sales. Walker notes
that the logo features three colors -- blue, gold and a "new
reddish brick." The team will wear white jerseys at home
and gray on the road, and also have a blue "alternate
jersey." "Milwaukee" will not appear on the front of the
uniforms, only "Brewers" will. The uniforms will be
produced by Wilson and Majestic, while MLBP and Milwaukee-
based McDill Design "were involved in the design" (JOURNAL
     SENTINEL, 11/10). Visit http://www.milwaukeebrewers.com.
