WORLD CHAMPION YANKEES HIT THE MARKET AND TALK-SHOW CIRCUIT

The Yankees' World Series victory will bring the
team's members "offers of millions of dollars in product
endorsements," according to Judith Schoolman of the N.Y.
DAILY NEWS. Steiner Sports Marketing President Brandon
Steiner said SS Derek Jeter "has the potential of being a
mega-mega star." Schoolman adds that the "sleeper of the
team in the endorsement race could be" World Series MVP
Mariano Rivera. SFX Sports Talent Manager Steve Rosner said
Rivera is "ripe for a marketing plan" and that he "could be
a perfect fit for endorsements of products aimed at Spanish-
speaking communities" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/29).
ONE BIG PARTY: Yankees players Jim Leyritz, Jeff
Nelson, Clay Bellinger, Jason Grimsley and Roger Clemens, as
well as pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre and manager Joe
Torre, were all guests on the "Late Show." The Yankees
presented the "The Top Ten Things The Yankees Have Always
     Wanted To Say."  No. 10: "Take off the Yankee hat, Hillary";
No. 9: "You haven't lived until you've scratched yourself in
front of 20 million viewers"; No. 8: "You know how you have
to give 110%? When you play the Marlins, you gotta give 40%
or 50%"; Mel Stottlemyre offered No. 4: "Man oh man, do I
love betting on baseball." Letterman: "He can't say that,
can he? Don't let Jim Gray in here for God's sake."; No.
3: "I don't play for the money, I play because I like having
guys pat me on my ass" (CBS, 10/28). Clemens was a guest on
the "Regis and Kathy Lee Show" today (THE DAILY). ABC's
Charles Gibson held up the Wheaties box featuring Torre
during this morning's "GMA" (THE DAILY).
