          To celebrate his 27th birthday, Broncos RB TERRELL
     DAVIS will perform today a duet he recorded with rapper
     LEGIT called, "It's All In The Game," at Denver's "F-Stop." 
     Davis said that MTV and BET "both are planning to tape the
     performance and air segments of it at a later date."  "ET"
     also "has considered sending a crew" (DENVER POST, 10/28)..
     ..JEFF GORDON will serve as an instructor for "GMA"'s five-
     part safety series, "The Great American Driving Test,"
     beginning next Monday (USA TODAY, 10/28)....USA TODAY's
     Oscar Dixon reports that "several" NBA rookies are
     participating in TEAMUP WEEK, a leaguewide service event
     that started Monday and ends Saturday.  All 29 NBA teams
     "participated in community projects with students" (USA
     TODAY, 10/28)....Big East Commissioner MIKE TRANGHESE
     "lambasted the NCAA and its handling of the sport of men's
     basketball" yesterday and said the sport is "out of
     control."  Tranghese: "The level of frustration I am feeling
     and seeing is at an all-time high" (Providence JOURNAL,
     10/28)....Nets C JAYSON WILLIAMS will announce tonight a 
     "multimillion-dollar donation" to his alma mater St. John's
     Univ. in the name of retired coach LOU CARNESECCA.  At the
     "request of the university, Williams would not reveal the
     exact amount," but said that the donation "will be for more
     than" the $2.5M Trail Blazers G STEVE SMITH gave Michigan
     State a few years ago (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 10/28).
