EARLY WORLD SERIES RATINGS ON NBC UP FROM LAST YEAR

          Last night's Game Two of the World Series earned a
     15.7/24 preliminary overnight Nielsen rating on NBC, up 10%
     from last year's Padres-Yankees Game Two on Fox.   The game
     earned a 32.7/44 in N.Y. and a 36.7/49 in Atlanta.  Game One
     on Saturday earned a 15.0/26, which is up 4% from last
     year's Game One, but down from the '96 Yankees-Braves
     17.0/26 Game One rating (THE DAILY).  NBC won Saturday night
     in the overnight averages (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 10/25). 
          RARE AIR PUBLISHING ALL CENTURY BOOK: MLB's All-Century
     Team commemorative book is published by Rare Air Media.  The
     hardcover book will be available beginning tomorrow and
     retail for $50 (MLB).  In N.Y., Keith Kelly writes that Rare
     Air Founder Mark Vancil has published two books on Michael
     Jordan, but now the media company is "branching out into
     other sports arenas with nearly 20 sports books," including
     editions on John Elway and Mario Lemieux (N.Y. POST, 10/24).
