NFL: ABC's "MNF" is averaging a 13.5/23, up 2% from
last year's 13.3/21 through the same week. CBS' NFL coverage
     is averaging a 10.3/23, up 20% from last season's 8.6
through the same week. CBS' "The NFL Today" is averaging a
2.6/7, up 8% from last year's 2.4. Fox' NFL coverage is
     averaging a 10.3/3, up 8% from last year's 9.5/22. "Fox NFL
Sunday" is averaging a 3.7/11, up 12% from last year's
     3.3/10 (THE DAILY).
RASSLIN' WITH THESE NUMBERS: Wrestling outdrew both
"MNF" and Game Five of the Yankees-Red Sox ALCS in the male
12-34 demo on Monday night. Wrestling drew a combined
average of 3,621,000 viewers (USA: 2,505,000; TNT:
1,116,000) compared to "MNF" drawing 3,281,000 and MLB
     drawing 2,232,000 (THE DAILY)....NBC's Braves-Mets NLCS Game
Five on Sunday, which earned a 12.0, was the highest-rated
afternoon post-season MLB game since '87. But in
comparison, the NFL has never had a post-season game rated
as low as a 12.0 and has had 301 regular season afternoon
telecasts since '87 rated higher than a 12.0 (THE DAILY).
For broadcast numbers, one ratings point = 1,008,000
homes. For cable, "Cov. Area" = % of homes tuned in to that
program in that network's universe of subscribers.
