MUST HAVES THIS CHRISTMAS: POKEMON, ELMO ... HOWIE & TERRY?

Fox Sports is taking the Claymation figures from its
"Fox NFL Sunday" promos "into the toy market," according to
Wayne Friedman of AD AGE. Starting in November, the seven-
inch figurines based on the likenesses of Fox announcers
Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw, James Brown and Cris
Collinsworth "will be sold at retail through a deal with
toymaker Equity Marketing." Fox Sports Senior VP/Marketing
Neal Tiles: "I can't recall a network ever leveraging their
promotion campaign into merchandising." The Fox Sports
figurines will cost $12.99 each and feature the Fox Sports
logo. Fox Licensing & Merchandising "put together the deal
for Fox Sports and Equity Marketing." Friedman writes that
Fox Sports also is moving into other merchandise with Fox
Sports jackets and other goods being made available on Fox
Sports' Web site, www.foxsports.com (AD AGE, 10/18 issue).
