          AFL Commissioner David Baker was in Raleigh yesterday
     to visit with the expansion team's Principal Owner Roddy
     Jones and "discuss plans for the franchise."  The team will
     announce its name, colors, uniform and head coach on
     November 12 (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 10/22)....Redskins
     Owner Daniel Snyder, on his management style: "I think that
     I will be there to always keep the team and the organization
     accountable.  It's my style.  It's what has led me to
     tremendous success" (WASHINGTON POST, 10/22)....L.A.
     Memorial Coliseum Commission President Sheldon Sloan writes
     a Letter to the Editor in today's WALL STREET JOURNAL
     refuting an October 13 column by Smith College Economics
     Professor Andrew Zimbalist stating that "public support for
     a new stadium [in L.A.] was not yet in place."  Sloan: "We
     not only had and have the support of the entire spectrum of
     elected officials, we already have the stadium" (WALL STREET
     JOURNAL, 10/22)....In DC, Jason La Canfora writes that the
     Capitals "plan to unveil" a new TV commercial tonight at
     6:00pm ET on their Web site at www.washingtoncaps.com
     (WASHINGTON POST, 10/22)....NV Resort Association President
     Bill Bible has said that he "doesn't believe [NV] sports
     books will be able to assert a united position on whether to
     ban betting on NBA games" (L.V. SUN, 10/20)....NC-based
     Advanced Internet Technologies has become the largest
     sponsor of the CHL Fayetteville (NC) Force in a deal worth
     $25,000-30,000 to the team (OBSERVER-TIMES, 10/21)....The
     AFL Avengers unveiled their "Spanish Outreach Campaign,"
     which includes the Spanish name "Vengadores," a separate
     logo and an "Espanol" section on the Web site (Avengers).
