THE WATERBOY'S PLACE IN FILM LORE AS TOP SPORTS-THEMED FLICK

          USA TODAY's Andy Seiler writes that "FOR THE LOVE OF
     THE GAME" is "striking out with moviegoers," as its box-
     office revenue has "dropped" almost 51% two weeks after its
     "mediocre" $13M opening.  The film has grossed around $20M
     in two weeks (USA TODAY, 9/28).  VARIETY listed the top
     grossing sports-themed films of all time (VARIETY, 9/20):
