KNIGHT VISION, PART II: CEO SEES BIG ROLE OF JORDAN BRAND

          Nike CEO Phil Knight said his company's U.S. sales have
     "gone through what I would consider a fairly normal cycle. 
     There's about a four-or five-year run within the athletic
     business and we're in the down cycle and we've been in the
     down cycle the last year. And we think we're coming out of
     it."  Knight credited the turnaround to the company's new
     products, which "have been well received," and cited "a lot"
     of the Jordan Brand products.  When asked if Michael
     Jordan's retirement has affected sales of the Jordan Brand,
     Knight said: "We believe [the Jordan Brand] will have legs
     to sell many years from now. ... We're bullish on the Jordan
     product."  Knight: "We clearly have room to grow in the
     [U.S.], particularly in the areas of the women's business,
     in terms of soccer, in terms of golf. But we can get single
     digits growth in the United States, but the most dramatic
     growth will come outside the United States" (CNNfn, 9/27).
