FACILITY NOTES

In Atlanta, Will Anderson reported that after two
exhibition hockey games, an Elton John concert and an open
house, Philips Arena is "performing beautifully," as the
inaugural events "have come off without a hitch" (ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 9/26)....In Raleigh, Chip Alexander noted the
"cushion controversy" over the color of the seats at the new
Raleigh Arena and wrote that "it's emblematic of what can
only be described as a peaceful but at times fragile
coexistence between N.C. State and the Hurricanes, a
relationship that at times appears to be as thin as a March
dusting of snow in the Triangle. It's almost symbolic of a
convoluted construction project that has had more than its
share of stops, starts and gaffes" (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER,
9/26)....The Delta Center has signed an exclusive long-term
agreement to allow Ticketmaster to provide tickets to all of
its events, including Jazz games (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 9/28).
