DID THE FEET FAIL INVESTORS? JFF TAKES HIT ON WALL STREET

Just For Feet (JFF) "took a dive on Wall Street
yesterday, losing almost half its value since Tuesday when
it said it might sell some of its stores," according to
Judith Schoolman of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. JFF's stock fell
"more than" 31% yesterday, to close at $1.75, a 52-week low.
On Tuesday, it fell 21% to $2.56. Schoolman: "Limping
closer to possible bankruptcy due to continuing losses, the
outlook for the country's second-largest sports clothes
chain got even dimmer when it hired financial adviser
Wasserstein Perella to help it evaluate its options, which
could include the sale of some stores" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS,
9/23). Wasserstein Perella is looking to finalize a new
$200M credit line for JFF (BIRMINGHAM NEWS, 9/22).
