Yankees P ROGER CLEMENS is set to appear on tonight's
season debut of ABC's "SPIN CITY." The show's plot involves
fictional Mayor Randall Winston ruining Clemens' perfect
game (N.Y. POST, 9/20).... Also tonight, comedian MIKE
O'MALLEY, "THE RICK" on the ESPN.com spots, debuts his new
show on NBC at 9:30pm ET. USA TODAY's Robert Bianco gives
the show two stars out of four (USA TODAY, 9/21).
PAYING FOR THE ATMOSPHERE? In N.Y., Jim Dwyer reviews
the new ESPNZONE in Times Square and notes the restaurant's
200 TV monitors: "An hour or two ... should cool many sports
fevers, even if it doesn't send you reeling out the door in
search of the tranquility of the Times Square subway
station" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/21). ESPN's CHRIS BERMAN
hosted last night's "MNF" halftime show from the Zone.

Warner Brothers co-President BILL GERBER and writer-director
DAVID RUSSELL are "teaming to produce" the comedy "NFL: A
LOVE STORY," which explores the "theme of homosexuality in
the NFL in a comic way" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 9/21)....KEVIN
COSTNER'S "FOR LOVE OF THE GAME" came in second at the
weekend box office, grossing $14M ("ET," 9/20).
