MOTOROLA SET TO LEVERAGE NFL SPONSORSHIP VIA PROMO, ADS

Motorola "will leverage" its NFL and Coaches Club
sponsorships "with a major consumer" promo and a "series" of
TV spots this season, according to Andy Bernstein of the
SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. The "Winning Call" promo "will ask
consumers to match up information" shown on a TV ad and on
POS materials at retailers "in order to get a chance to win
a free trip" to Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta. The contest is
supported by print ads featuring Broncos coach Mike Shanahan
and Vikings coach Dennis Green, as well as a TV spot.
Bernstein adds that "at least one additional" NFL-themed
Motorola ad will break "later this season" and that the
company has "further leveraged" its NFL partnership with a
"line of NFL and team-identified wireless phone accessories"
(SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/13 issue). BRANDWEEK's Terry
Lefton reports that Motorola's NFL promo is called "Watch,
Call and Win" (BRANDWEEK, 9/13 issue).
