DALE COURTING RETURN TO SKYDOME, FILES C$50M LAWSUIT

Former SkyDome President Lawrence Dale has "sued"
Sportsco Int'l co-CEOs and former partners Harvey Walken and
Alan Cohen and "five related companies for allegedly
breaching their fiduciary duties, conspiring to squeeze him
out of future profits," according to Tony Van Alphen of the
TORONTO STAR, who writes that Dale "wants a court order to
force them to sell" the SkyDome to him. Dale is "seeking an
injunction" that "would make" Walken and Cohen sell SkyDome
to him, "minus any profits and fees they have received since
the April purchase." Dale and his company, Sportsco Corp.,
also "made a claim" for C$50M in damages from Walken and
Cohen as an "alternative to the transfer." Cohen said that
settlement talks on the dispute were unsuccessful, and
added, "I can't say I'm shocked [about the lawsuit]"
(TORONTO STAR, 9/14). In Toronto, Gayle MacDonald: "Dale's
legal salvo is a curveball that SkyDome's new owners don't
need right now" (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 9/14).
