HE'S DOING IT HIS WAY: SNYDER REMOVES ALL COOKE REFERENCES

New Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder is scheduled to
announce next week that Jack Kent Cooke Stadium "will be
renamed" Redskins Stadium until the naming rights are sold,
according to Liz Clarke of the WASHINGTON POST, who writes
that Snyder "also plans to abolish" the name "Raljon," which
was a tribute by Cooke to his sons Ralph and John at the
200-acre site that the stadium and parking lots sit on in
Landover, MD. Snyder will also replace Big Jack beer, the
stadium's official beer, with a different microbrew.
Snyder, on problems he has encountered since buying the
     team: "I didn't realize how much of a fixer-upper I had with
the Redskins. I had to do a lot of work -- with the
stadium, the training park." In other news, Snyder will
introduce "Fifth Quarter" this season at Redskins Stadium,
where fans can remain in the stadium after games to watch
other NFL games on TV sets throughout the facility. Snyder
added that the team's annual advertising revenue has
"tripled" from $5M to $15M in the seven weeks since his
ownership and all but about 600 of the stadium's club seats
have been sold, with plans for another 150 to be installed
(WASH. POST, 8/18). Snyder, asked if he will appear on the
sidelines during games: "That's not my style. I'm not that
intrusive. That's not my personality" (WASH. POST, 8/18).
